Its literally been months since I last posted anything... I'm going to put it down to being busy finishing my last term in my last year of uni but its really more as a result of my incurable laziness...
Nothing major has been happening in my life lately, I've been traveling between the usual embarrassing event to the next usual embarrassing event. So I've decided to do a little post with some music in, and some pictures I'm obsessing over and other boring stuff like that!
So I've been house-bound as a result of my dissertation which I'm allegedly making great progress with... And instead of working I've been spending most of my time obsessing over the Summer of Love!!!
Growing up when my mum was doing her degree she had a few days off a week and so we used to have much more time to do what we wanted whenever we wanted to. Then when mum met Tracey who I refer to as my second mama, my mum followed her hippie ways and so our house was filled with flower power and even though since then my mum has become a teacher and saves her hippie-ness for the summer, I feel such nostalgia and a pull towards it. Now we're coming into spring I'm getting even more excited and into it with the looming prospect of being able to fill the house with flowers and wear long floaty dresses and headbands :D Although I do this all year around anyway, I'm just feeling super inspired!
So anyway, lately I've been listening to my good man Aisha's 'Goodens' playlist on Spotify, I've been playing it in the car and both mum and myself agree she should have her own radio station, and personally I think that between us we could musically take over the world and put the trash the kids listen to these days out of circulation FOREVER! (As you can tell this is a touchy subject...)
Aisha's playlist
I've also been listening to this rad playlist by a wonderful human being who I have never met but I love this playlist! Its only rock n roll
Now I'm getting sleepy, I've submitted a piece of uni work (sigh, boring sigh) so have some pictures I like:
All of these are from Tumblr (obviously) the first is a quote about Elvis which I loooovveed:
"Elvis is the greatest cultural force in the twentieth century. He introduced the beat to everything - music, language, clothes - its a whole new revolution. The 60's comes from it."
I watched a 90's film called Poison Ivy, it was kinda crap but also amazing at the same time, Drew Barrymore in that film is everything.
So my life consists of pining after the late 60's, being as cool as Kristen Stewart, watching 90s films and listening to good music.
I can't wait for summer!!!!
Ciao for now fellows, peace and love x
(Also RIP Leonard Nimoy, Live Long & Prosper)
Spring!
